Traded my M3, Saying goodbye....

Hey guys, I haven't really posted anything for a while, but remember I started reading and became part of M3post since 2007 just before the launch of the e92, I had my M3 since 2008, I really enjoyed reading a lot of useful information here, some great posters, which are no longer here. Just wanted to thank everyone who made DIY, helped me and others decide on exhaust, pulley's everything, I read M3post everyday, it was great time with my M3 and even though I don't live in the US I felt part of the M3post community, I sold my M3 a couple of weeks ago and bought the Porsche 991 Carrera S, which after a test drive left me without any hesitations to part with my baby, I've drive M3's since I was 20, so it was a big step saying goodbye, but I'm so happy I could get the C2S now I gotta wait till it comes in November, I don't want to start a flame war between these, but my options came to the new M6 or paying the difference and getting the P-car, after a track day with the M6, I had way too much doubts, and on my personal thought don't like the new M direction, but my post was to thank everyone who made this 5 years at M3post so memorable, thanks again guys

thanks guys, its just a beautiful car, the interior blew me away, I was surprised as to everything is an extra, but I have had a poster of a 959 since I was in high school, it's just my dream car, I waited for the 991 to come out, and the test drive was amazing, I'm so happy, just gotta wait a few more months

I went with:
Porsche Carrera S 2013
Platinum Silver
All leather Black
Aluminum Trim
Sport Exhaust
PDK
Carrera Classic II 20" Colored Crest
TPM
Park Assist F and R
Sport Chrono package plus
Bose
Floor Mats
Sport Design Steering Wheel
Wheel Spacers
Spare tire
I really wanted PDCC but, this car is really expensive over here, also wanted the sunroof, but didn't like the way it folds out, I got what I really wanted, especially the leather, it looks great

Nice move! I test drove the new 911CS too, it's definitely a step up in performance but damn the price tag! Congrats.

Congrats.

Although I am not really a Porsche fan I have to ask why not get a new 2013 Lamborghini Gallardo or 2013 Audi R8 V10?

Congrats and good bye for now.

Something tells me you will be back An F82 would make a great stable mate to that 991.

The thing is, prices here are way up, there's no Lambo dealer in Central America, and maybe a bit too much at 32, my M3 was $120,000, the 991C2S was $173,000 with some options I added, the Audi V10 is above $230,000, and I don't have that much to spend on one car, I'm a big fan of Porsche, but all I have owned are BMW's, I just had to have a 911 and it seemed the 991 hit it right on the nail, it really was a joy to test drive it, I really pushed it hard, I was really cross shopping between the 991 and new M6, after a track day with the M6 held by BMW, I really didn't like it, or it was just not love at first sight, the moment I saw the 991 I was blown away, the M6 didn't do it for me, I know some might not like it, but I just love it, to be honest with you, I really like the car, I'm not a fanboy of any brand, but this car is really special, maybe when I get married, I'll go with a Panamera Turbo or M5 for the extra space, but untill then, I'm just gonna enjoy the 991, like I did my M3,
thanks guys,
just for the joy of it, I recommend you test drive one, and don't be guided by magazines or videos, just try it out, and be the judge

PDCC is great but is pretty pricey. I think spasm sort suspension is a good alternative as it provides a lower ride height and a better looking stance than the base suspension. I was about to order the 991s with similar options (no pdc) but I could not justify paying 115k. I have a 2009 c2s and it's a pretty amazing car in and of itself. I'll be buying a CPO 991 when they are more readily available.

They really are, I was really surprised how different it felt from my M3, both great cars, but different, I love how it looks, I really did some research on my options, and PDCC is amazing tech, as is adaptive cruise control, I just dont think I'll really feel the difference for 6k, I considered SPASM, but I think the sport suspension that's just more stiff should be enough, but, wow, everything is an option, I did ordered some more, which are more cosmetic, P crest on headrest, some cosmetic stuff, I would like to know more on how you feel about the 997-991 difference, coming from an owner, as this whole P-car 6SOL is all new to me, I actually didn't havethe time to research as I did with my M3 reading this forum months before release, there was one last spot for November-December delivery and I just sold my car and went with my dream, after test driving it for about two hours I was sold, for the options I did had time to do some research, so I'm pleased with how it went, did you see the configutaror already has the 30 plus hp option? Man P prices are insane, I'm so happy I could get my dream car, and the options I wanted, could've added a few more, but I won't spend that much, so many options, wow, stiches, leather, man, so much

I don't know how much those cars are in your country. But here a full load 991 C2s is $135k-150k max, v10 r8 is at $200k range and a brand new Gallardo is close to 300k.

The one I bought with those options, is $173,000, the V10 is above $230,000 and Lambo there's not even a dealer, so I don't think these cars can compare, the new M6 is about $150,000 fully loaded, so that's what I was cross shopping, between the M6 and the 911

Yeah, gotta love those US prices, I honestly don't know how they can vary so much, sure the importing laws, but prices here, vary from options I got the Bose for $1200, in the website is listed as $2300, even BMW and Porsche are so apart than they should be
