GAS Octane for the M3

In Toronto, theres Shell 91, Petro 91, Sunoco 94 etc..

Ive been using Shell 91 for my 335; should I upgrade to Sunoco 94 on my M3?

I go only Chevron 94 in my beast. I am sure you can run 91, but really, for the small difference in price, get the 94.

I think you will be fine with the Shell 91.I have to use Esso & its 91 or 92 as it is what my coporate company gas card is.I have tried a couple of tanks of Sunoco 94 and did not feel any SOP difference between the 2.

I go to Sunoco or Shell if I have the choice. I've heard some people say that the higher ethanol content in Sunoco 94 is a problem for high performance engines. I'm not sure whether that's true or not, or even whether Sunoco does have higher ethanol than Shell 91.

Shell V-Power has no ethanol.

My Z4M Coupe tends to hesitate when cold if I use anything apart from Shell V-Power.

I have been using only Sunoco Ultra 94, and have not had any problems with the ethanol (they claim up to 10%). If a Sunoco is not around my 2nd choice with the Shell V-Power 91.
