i mean.. damn we cant even close the windows automatically with our key... we can only open them!

Yes we can. You can't use the fob, but if you physically put the key into the door lock they will roll up.

I see no reason they couldn't be just as strong in a side impact. The interface to the car isn't the issue, or what provides the strength - there are tubes inside the door to give you the side impact protection. The door hinge on a car is not particularly strong. These could easily be fit to sit nicely into the door frame and latch in place. My bigger concern would be getting the door open in an emergency. From an EMS standpoint, it's not hard to break the latch and peel a door open. These would be a PITA.

Still very cool though!

true.. but i want to use the fob haha

if you have comfort access you can just hold your finger over the lock "button" and theyll close too.

I dont have CA. all i do is hold the lock button, and the windows roll up, and the side mirrors fold. isnt this a standard feature?
