Staking my buddy money for live poker. Need info

Im on my phone fwiw...

So theres no more online poker; my friend's entire income comes purely from online games.

He is going to play live tables, but because a lot of his liquid cah is held up right now, he's looking for investors.

Maybe looking to stake 2500. [b]Any idea what % return i should be expecting?

Give him $2500, charge 30% interest if he loses it or 75% of profits until you are paid in full plus 10%. And have it all in writing if you ever want your money back.

But if he does he'll have to be prepared to viciously beat him if unpaid.

I'm sure he will have the motivation once he doesn't have that $2500 anymore.

If he's like 90% of the online players that I've seen, your money is as good as gone. The majority of online players cant play live games well enough to make a profit. Unless you are sure he has the ability to pay you back when his assets are available I would suggest you not lend to him.

Garage List
I think he should wait for his liquid cash to free up
if he is so sure of himself, I'm sure he can free up 2,500$.. it isn't a lot of money...
and if he is so good, then he should be able to turn 200$ into that 2,500$

just my thought

On line is much different than live. You will lose your stake and be prepared to be asked for a reload. If you're going to mix friends and money, accept the fact that you're basically giving the cash away and make it a gift.

There's no market for this so there really is no norm. Charge whatever you need to feel good about giving him 2500. If it's too high and he doesn't like it, he can just say no and find somebody else.

if this is your best friend who you look at like a brother give him money.

However any other friend which is 1% less then less, do not waste your time. It will cause drama, I promise you.

Echoing what everyone else has said - playing live is SO much different than online. It will be gone faster than he knows what's happened.

Don't do this.

Don't transition to live poker. Tell him to get his series 7, 55, 63, 87 etc and then transition to a trading desk... especially if his APM is high as a result of certain "other games." He could make 300 times more on rediplus than he ever did on fulltilt if his fundamental understanding of risk/reward is strong enough to earn a living playing poker.

if hes really good, how can he not have $2500 sitting around ESPECIALLY he gambles as a living?!?!?

so let me ask you, would you really stake him?

but i would prolly charge a 20% on top, so he pays you $3000 back in maybe 3 - 6 months?
