Recurrent roof drip rail detachment????

I have on 09 M3 coupe. Six months into ownership both drip rails partially detached and were replaced under warranty. Now the right side has partially detached and the dealership wants to replace a broken clip. Anyone else have this issue?

Sadly, BMW Canada will not guarantee to look after the issue when the warranty expires.

I had the same thing
I took off the right side
Removed all the double sided tape
Cleaned it very well
Applied new double sided tape from home depot, made for outdoor use
Looked good for a few months
Then popped up again
I never took it to dealer cuz I dont trust those monkeys
I was thinking of attaching the clips with silicon to the roof
The snapping in the rail

I'm not that industrious, and will give the dealer another chance. As for your monkey comment, it took me 3 visits to the dealer the first time around to get the repair done. I can't get a straight answer now as to why the entire drip rail was replaced the first time, with only a clip being replaced this time.

I've had it three times in a year, 4000 miles. Always the right side. Multiple clips reordered. The magic happened when some who knew their shit at the dealer attached the clips correctly. FYI, there isn't supposed to be any tape involved.

I meant that there shouldn't be any tape holing the rail down, dunno about on the clips themselves.
