Bad news

Was in an incident on Tuesday that resulted in my E90M getting smoked by a Nun driving a Toyota.

List of repairs include:
- full rear left suspension
- left rear wheel (this will be my 6th 359M)
- new 3/4 panel
- new rear door

I\'m in a base Subaru Forrester rental car and it feels like a monster truck.

Sob sob.

James

PS: estimated repair is 23 business days plus the ~2 weeks to order the parts.

James I am SO sorry to hear this!!! Constant fear for many of us... bad other drivers! Glad you are OK!

I'm sure it will be as good as new when you get it back. You will just appreciate it even more!

P.S. This is your 6th OEM 359 wheel... what happened each time?

Well that sucks!Just make sure that you do not accept back the car from the body shop if everything is not 100%.If it was not an at fault accident get on your insurance about additional compensation for increased depreciation because of the reported collision repairs. You might have to fight on this to get it but if you go up the ladder you can usually get a further settlement.

I was in the left lane of a two lane city street half way through a left run in to a plaza and the lady who was seriously a nun clocked the back of my car.

The cop chose to give me a ticket for "Turn-not in safety". So insurance won't side with me and I'll see a jump in premium and had the joy of being hit by someone else.

I still plan to keep this car for 8-10 years as I did with my prior Audi so my key concern is an excellent corrosion resistant long term repair.

Thanks for the well wishes and the Dr's say the pain I feel in my neck and back is muscular and will heal quickly. So doing OK physically.

I guess I'll get the car back ~Dec 1st so will have to take the 219's I picked up from Heath the he repair shop.

James! Glad to hear you're OK. 5 weeks without the car! Hopefully it'll all be back to new without any hiccups along the way. Get well!

Nun's these days!
Sad day indeed.....

will you post a couple pics?
I agree about the Subaru comment. I took one for a test drive two weeks ago and there was absolutely no "joy" driving that clunker!

Never did like the church and this just reinforces the feelings. Take care of yourself, a good shop will fix it as good as new, and fight that ticket!
