Anyone ship anything from US- any idea what fees will be associated?

I am awaiting the shipment of my new exhaust- a Meisterschaft GT- from the US. Anyone else have a similar shipment that could help me with determining associated fees?
Thank you in advance.

Expect to pay sales tax, a brokerage fee and duty. When I bought my Akra, I want to say that duty and brokerage fees were maybe around $300 and then HST on top of the entire price. I can't remember exactly how much (might have been less) but it was NOT cheap.

P.S. UPS is HORRIBLE for brokerage fees, if you can get it shipped with another carrier, the better IMO.

On occasions Fedex is just as fast. Quite a few time my packages got stuck in customs because of the lack of paper work...it never happened for UPS. But even then Fedex >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> UPS

I've imported quite a lot of stuff from the US, both personally and for my business. Expect to pay some or all of the following:

HST - according to your province
Duty - made in Canada/USA/Mexico (under NAFTA) = 0%; otherwise it's 8%.
Shipping - as already negotiated with your vendor
Brokerage - to process the customs forms and clear customs. Cost will depend on your carrier, of if you use a third party brokerage house

UPS - they'll rip you off - BIG TIME
FedEx - a bit better than UPS
USPS - the BEST way for smaller items. Canada Post charges a nominal $8 fee, and collects the HST on the declared value on top of that.
Brokerage house - flat rate, usually depending on the value of the goods

You can sign up with a brokerage house for a one-time importation. They'll charge you a flat fee to do all the paperwork. Sometimes less than a carrier's in-house brokerage, sometimes more. Some brokers have an online quoting system. Just google and find one.

Oh yes, don't forget the M TAX!!!

Be besides all that, look beyond the $$$ and enjoy the exhaust!

I imported my M from California last year. I can't recall the exact cost, but I saved about $2k, BUT I got exactly what I wanted as far as colour and options.

To summarize take the cost of the car + conversion + roughly 20% for taxes and other minor costs. That's it.

If I were to do it again, I think I would buy a ZO6 or ZR1 because you save the 6% fee they charge if the vehicle isn't made in North America.

I used UPS to ship me some items from IND ($200 worth of items) and I got charged an additional $70 at the door when the product arrived. The item arrived in less than 48 hours of ordering it. I ordered the same products for my last m3 with IND about 5 months ago and I requested that the items be shipped via USPS because I already have bad experience with ridiculous UPS fees which are due at shipping. The items took roughly 2 weeks to arrive but it was worth the wait since I didn't have a surprise $70 fee waiting for me after it arrives.

I knew UPS was going to screw me over but I used them any way because I need my parts asap.

Just thought I'd share another bad UPS story.
