Any exhaust systems that do NOT drone?

I would love to get an aftermarket exhaust, but I don't want any droning, as that would get old after about a week.

On my Corvette Z06, I had a Corsa Pace Exhaust System, which are designed to not drone and is their claim to fame becuase they cancel out that frequency. Are there any such systems for the M3?

I am looking for just the rear section, not a complete system.

OEM drones a bit on this car. So short answer is no. Long answer is any of the good quality systems keep the drone minimal and fairly quiet so it's not annoying.

I'm a fellow z06 owner, but i kept my car stock. I see that Corsa also sells an exhaust for the m3, I was thinking strongly about it. It can be found here with a video http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/

I'm not sure what people think of this exhaust yet. TRz06, what was your experience with the Corsa, I guess the technology is the same with the canceling chambers.. At WOT, was it loud and cruising as quiet as stock?! I'd love to hear any input. It doesn't seem to be a popular exhaust for the M3.

Really? If it does I don't notice it.

Let me elaborate, I know any aftermarket exhaust is going to be louder especially under throttle, that is not my concern, I want that. What I don't want is that loud penetrating annoying drone sound that penetrates the cabin when you are cruising around. I do not hear any of that with the OEM system.

The Corsa system ROCKED on the Z06. It was loud and mean when under throttle, but whisper quiet under no load and at cruise. The best of both worlds.

Good price, ugly exhaust...Corsa that is.

There are a few good exhausts for around the same money give or take.

Try out RPi's new exhaust (rear section).

Agreed! I have an Eisenmann Sport on our E92 project car and I don't experience any drone, just an exotic throaty tone throughout the powerband. Let me know if you want to pick up a system!

The AA systems has noise cancelling chambers specifically designed to eliminate drone.

You must be kidding Eisenmann Germany offered you a full refund on your exhaust and you turned it down.

I have a Eisenmann Sport on order and all that I have heard is the drone is non existent to barely there. The sound of the exhaust is amazing though. This is true for the Sport only, as I heard the Race has a slight bit there, but then again, so does the OEM. Any exhaust that you want sound out of will have some degree of drone, it just depends on how much that will differ from each manufacturer.

Just so you know, he was a BUYER of Eisenmann Sport well before he became a seller for them. His opinion of them never changed if you want to search his old posts.

Thats how much he enjoyed the product.

Although some people said no, I find that the Ericsson Amuse exhaust does drone at around 2800RPM.. sometimes loudly.. sometimes not very.. but it's there...

Dinan exhaust does not drone due to there one pipe exit design and elimination of the stock bends. Exhaust still has twin tips, but one is just for show and eliminates the drone.

AA doesn't drone for sure. All the "Sport" exhausts like Remus Sport and Eisenmann Sport don't drone either.

No drowning with mine. Great across the power band! Haven't had any problems whatsoever!

This is not entirely true. The AA also drones at around 1,500 - 2,000 rpm but the effect (cabin penetration) will depend on which M3 you put in on. I have an E90 with DCT and the drone is almost unbearable when in auto mode because the program tries to upshift as much as possible and you are almost always in this drone range when driving in the city. Highway driving is no problem and the effect can be circumvented a little by driving in manual mode and keeping the revs high.

Alternatively, my friend has E92 with 6MT and his in cabin sound is almost not noticeable. Maybe the E92 is better insulated than E90 but the nature of the 6MT means you don't get stuck in the drone range very often.

So something to keep in mind. Just my 2 cents.

Doru, you do realize that your objectivity is completely shot, right? With inflammatory posts here and on m3forum, it is hard to take your posts with anything but a massive grain of salt.

To the OP, check out all the posts on Youtube of Eisenmann crossreferenced with e92 M3. IND did post some great videos, especially the one with the camera mounted to the rear of the vehicle as the car was successively taken from idle to high velocity speeds. That is a great resource.
