My big upcoming vacation driving through the Alps from 08 to 13 June

I'm a service member stationed in Germany and am about to move back to the States and want to give my 135i a good send off before forcing it to languish on the US highway and road system. If anybody wants to join me in their 1 series for part or all you're more than welcome. Cute girls are double welcome.

Phase 1: Sunday, 08 June 2008
Starting in Wurzberg, I will find my way to Fussen via the famous Romantische Strasse. Its a six or seven hour drive through the secondary roads so I won't be blasting along but the intent is to take in the best of Bavaria and having driven the southern portion already, I can testify its a beautiful area. I anticipate moderate traffic due to the advent of tourist season and the road's popularity with bus trips. In my 135i I don't anticipate having difficulty passing slow vehicles. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=e...696655&t=p&z=8

Phase 2: 09 June 2008
Spending my first night in Fussen, I will head for the 43 switchback masterpiece that is the Stelvio Pass on Monday. Word is that the pass is heavily trafficked on the weekends so I've planned accordingly. Travel through Austria to the pass should take 3 hours, depending on how often I stop for photography. http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&geocode=8868674374270676138,49.4866 34,9.766427%3B1700431318125700624,49.474798,9.8510 89%3B3145525632804668041,49.510640,9.970570%3B1398 519109699032907,49.286560,10.259540%3B168578466158 86199444,48.781940,10.694730%3B1313718956749033183 0,48.721040,10.777460%3B2708036312572448264,48.352 940,10.973890%3B9644641103600704766,47.808760,10.9 07540%3B2074862671923024114,47.712230,10.973670&sa ddr=Fussen,+Germany&daddr=Pass+dal+Stielva,+39029+ Stelvio,+Bolzano+(Trentino-Alto+Adige),+Italy&sll=48.472921,10.601807&sspn=3. 015526,4.696655&dirflg=h&ie=UTF8&t=p&z=9

From the Stelvio Pass I will continue into Italy only to turn northwest for Switzerland and will spend my second night in Leukerbad, Switzerland.

Phase 3: 10 June - 13 June
From Leukerbad I will head directly west through the Swiss alps via the secondary roads into France and then Spain.

I will be staying in a hotel just off the beach in a little town called Pineda de Mar, about 40 miles from Barcelona and will use it as a launching point to travel the area, plans to be determined. Definite plans include toasting myself on the beach.

Phase 4: 13 June

I'll begin the return trip to sign out from my unit in Schweinfurt, Germany for the last time. The 13 hour drive back will be grueling but the chance to see so much of southern Europe is well worth the estimated $1400 fuel expense and over 2500 miles on my 135i.
