Old review of M3 E93, but I couldn't have said it better myself.

http://autos.ca.msn.com/reviews/2008...entid=19292851

"Summon all 414 horsepower and you won't just feel the car pin you to your seat, you'll hear one of the most captivating performances to come from a BMW. Without the obstruction of metal and glass, the metallic thrash-metal symphony is much louder and clearer. It's so good, so addictive, so relentless, it'll nearly make you forget about the straight sixes of years past . . . and that aforementioned stereo system."

to me the soundtrack is worth the extra weight especially considering you have to drive the speed limit anyways

I am moving up from a 335i vert to an M3 vert next month (my car is in production now). I didn't get to test drive a convertible M3 (just sedan/coupe) and can't wait to hear that engine in the open air... The break in period is going to seem so long............

I couldn't go to sleep the night before I picked mine up. You are going to love it.

You should write up a comparison review when you get your M3 vert. It will be warm enough for open air driving.

that's what i did

the engine sounds amazing

i will admit i miss the torque of my 335i (i was heavily modded, mind you)

stock for stock i would never even consider a 335 over an m3

but with the mods I had... it is difficult.
but i prefer the M3
