An Expensive Snow job!
Dulles Airport Hanger collapse due to heavy snow this past weekend.
This picture says it all. Two Global Expresses and a G-550 on their tails. The Global in the foreground is also apparently severely damaged. That is $200m+ of hardware, not including the hangar. Thinking about a mobile asset relocation plan prior to heavy weather? There is 30"+ on the ground now and 10-20" more forecast by Wednesday! It looks like the engineering company and steel provider better be calling their insurance providers. That is a pretty new facility and I suspect the commercial construction building code for snow loads are designed for 30" of wet stuff, even in Virginia . |

The americans are already blaming Airbus for the fact that the aircrafts could not sustain the weight of an snowed in hangar roof on them.
