New M3 coupe crashes into house in CA

What a waste. Would like some pics.

http://www.whittierdailynews.com/news/ci_7620287

BMW still stuck in kitchen

Quote:
GLENDORA - A new BMW coupe caused "kind of a spectacle" Sunday as it remained embedded in the front of a home following a Saturday night crash, police said.

The crash occurred just before 9 p.m. Saturday at a house at 856 N. Loraine Ave., said police Lt. Tim Staab.

A 19-year-old Glendora man, whose name was not released, was driving a brand-new BMW M3 east on Palm Drive at about 55 mph, Staab said.

The speed limit in the neighborhood is 25 mph, officials said.

The driver blew through a stop sign and was unable to make the right turn onto Loraine Avenue, Staab said.

The car went up the curb, through a fence and became "impaled into the front of this house," said Staab.

The entire front half of the car appeared to be inside the kitchen, he added.

An unknown number of people were home, but none were in the kitchen and none were injured, said Staab.

The driver, who was not injured in the crash, was investigated for signs of intoxication, Staab said, but police concluded alcohol or drugs played no role in the crash.

Officers cited the driver for speeding, he added.

The BMW remained embedded in the home Sunday, as officials wait for experts
to examine the structural integrity of the home.
The scene is causing "kind of a spectacle," Staab said. "It's quite a sight." Traffic has also slowed down considerably near the intersection as passing drivers stare at the damage, said Staab.

City officials red-tagged the home, and the residents have moved out until the damage can be repaired, Staab said.

The residents have expressed concern over the nearby intersection, police said, as this is the second time their property has been damaged in a crash.

On Jan. 1, cars on the property were damaged by a drunk driver who lost control at the intersection, said Staab.

Generally, however, Staab said the intersection tends to be a safe one. "Most of the time, the people who use this intersection are local residents," he said, "and they don't drive recklessly."

Clearly, the house is in the wrong place, and therefore, the kid should not be blamed.

seriously, only in America would you be concerned over the intersection instead of the drunk drivers and reckless teens...

So will his insurance replace with a new E92 M3 then?

if so, good deal. everyone crash their cars

Has anyone heard of any E9X M3 wrecks outside the US yet? It would break my heart to hear about a totaled M3 when I haven't even seen one yet.
