Need pics of cars with 18" alloys.

As I am still stuck as to whether go for the stock 18" alloys or upgrade to the stock 19". So if anyone can help I am looking as many good quality pics of M3 with stock 18" alloys from lots of angles so I can compare.

Thanks.

I was on the fence and realized that you save $1200 with 18's and they are lighter by about 4lbs. Thats 16 pounds of unsprung weight which is quite a bit. Of course that is just for bragging rights....

Oh if you want some great pics of AW with 18's go to page 5 of the Official AW Coupe Thread...

Or look at the wallpapers sticky and the red E92

Smile 18" Wheel Pics

I'm new here but was able to drive this guy at my local dealer which had 18" wheels. I've gotta say, I've never been impressed with these wheels from the pictures I've seen. However, I was pleasantly surprised with the way they looked in person. Still not as good as the 19" wheels, but much better in person IMO.

I'd definitely get 18's and keep them for the track and buy aftermarket 19's. The stock 19's aren't wide enough. Rather run 295's and 10.5 inch wide rears

Go w/ 18s. Then later u can buy some nicer after-market 19s if you want and as others say, 18s for track. Not feeling the chromey 19s - if they made 19s in a graphite or black ...

such ugly rims.
just as bad as 18s on e46 m3.

i'd probably get 19"s and get aftermarket unless you are a "stock" guy.

i think that the 18s look great, but there is too much tire and for some reason, whether its actual or just a visual trick, the space between the tire and the wheel well looks very exaggerated with the 18s. don't like it.

the 18s are hideous...they were hideous on the e46 and they are even more hideous on the e92.
How you could even consider getting 18s? to save 4lbs? and $1200? if your that cheap - dont spend your money on an m3!

the only way anyone should be looking at getting the 18s are if they are planning on putting 19's or 20's on it and wont be using the 18s or will only use the 18s for winter rubber!

Isn't that considered saving money? The exact thing you blasted for people earlier in your rant?

That's 4 lbs of unsprung weight, not just 4 lbs. That much unsprung weight is huge and no small thing in the handling department. By the way that is per wheel I believe so it is actually 16 lbs of unsprung weight. Racing engineers go to huge lengths to get much less than that.

So let me see better handling, smoother riding, and $1,200 bucks cheaper. Sounds like a no-brainer to me.

As for being better looking, well I am not some testosterone poisoned, rap star wann-a-be, teenager trying to make his car look like some slammed Rice Rocket or ghetto cruiser. There are many of us adults out there that think the 18"s look much better. F1 cars don't come with 20" rims and 25 series tires.

Don't confuse your taste in cars with the absolute truth.
