Launching an M3 from a standstill.

A bit of a noob here I know, but I was just wondering..

Whats the best way to launch an M3 from a stand still? I know that with Traction Control on/off its gonna be slow, and that the MDM helps a lot in that regard, but from the videos ive seen there still a bit of wheel spin and power interruption in MDM.

Is there a Launch Mode feature in the M3? How would it work on M-DCT, start out in 2nd and shift back down when its going? And if not, whats the best way to get it off the line? (And im guessing it would be the same technique I should be using on my 630i as well, which does have considerable wheel spin in first gear from a standing start).

Thanks for the help, and sorry if its too nooby of a question

There is no "launch-control".

If you are clumsy, there is no difference between MDM and normal DSC, but they do seem to differ in the threshold at which they activate.

As you would expect, any mechanical intervention is to the detriment of a perfectly judged, unassisted start: basically you still need to practice and get used to the car (which is a lot more fun than pressing a launch button).

The clutch pedal is light, but the action is superb. It's a very easy car to drive.

Pulling away in second is pointless - use some control and make the most of the 8,000 revs at your disposal.
