Possibly movin' back to jersey...need help

Never thought this would be happening so soon.

I moved out to Orange County CA almost 2 years ago for a job that's been amazing (sales - my own boss for the most part) and my location is pretty tough to beat.

Now - pondering a promotion in the company that'd bring me back to Jersey and i'm finding it tough to figure out where I even want to live (lived in jersey for 10 years - including holmdel, new brunswick, frankllin park, highland park).

I'm looking to rent right now with my wife - and maybe buy after a year or so of being settled. But for all you guys in monmouth and middlesex county - what are some NICE apartments that are relatively new?

I've already discounted pier village, green hill manor in frankllin park, and the highlands in new brunswick for various reasons....but suggestions from you guys would be helpful!

CA is so much better for the M!! but ...will...a promotion sounds nice too.
I live in Highland Park, the new townhouses and houses being built behind my house looks pretty nice. http://www.pulte.com/communities/nj/...wns/index.aspx
Do a search, Im sure you can find plenty of places in the area for rent, let me know if you need any help, always glad to help a forum member.
I also have a townhouse (3 bedroom, 2 and a half bath, living, dinning, one car garage) in Highland Park for rent starting this september.
send me a pm if your interested.

I hate Pier Village...it's so "wanna be". I moved to the new highrise on the ocean in Asbury Park...yes, the Asbury that used to be full of crack hos...lol. It is absolutely gorgeous! Beach is nice, lots of cool restaurants and lounges. The place I live in, has a pool overlooking the beach, full gym, and underground parking for my beloved M! Check out the link below....it's like living at a hotel. Feel free to IM me if you have any questions, or need some guidance, as you have not lived here in so long.

Thanks boys - the asbury park place looks pretty nice but the wifey would probably freak if i mentioned asbury haha. The parking situation is good? I'm taking your opinion to heart since you have an M and are probably as anal as me when it comes to douchebags parking next to you and giving you door dings.

and yeah - super tough to go from the weather here to back to jersey in the winter - now I need to worry about winter tires (again). I'm not psyched but gotta do what's best for the career in the short-term.

Asbury Park is a ghost town and still a shit hole overall. No way I would move there and don't let anyone tell you any different. Pier Village is very nice but you have to be into that life. My friend had a place there for a year and it was one of the best years I had in awhile. Having said that I think it is way over priced and it shows by how many vacant units they have.

Metuchen is far and away the best town in the area- bright, open minded people, zero snob factor-stable integration on every block!

Lol..calm down dude...it's actually quite fun. Bars are hopping, restaurants are awesome, and Madison Marquette has dumped a crap load of money into the area. Its a place that is growing exponentially, monthly despite a shitty housing market. Maybe take a ride down this spring, and see what kind of "shithole" I live in...ridiculous statement. I sold my house in Red Bank and moved down a year ago....no regrets here.

Try South Amboy. I know they are building a lot of new townhouses there.

Garage List
A few years ago I rented a small 3 bdrm house with a 2 car garage and a fenced backyard (for the dog) in Freehold for about $2300/mo. I also looked at some "luxury" townhomes, but I really liked the privacy I got with the single family house, as well as having my own garage. It was the perfect size for a temporary place... not too big. There are lots of similar places in that area, but you have to go through a real estate agent since they are privately owned (vs. a rental community). You don't pay the agent any fees though... the owner does.

Try Cross Point in East Brunswick. My friend used to live there. Small houses but decent place for temporary stay.
