Question New Rear Valence??

I was taking a look at the DCT M3 Cab photos again and it looks like BMW put in piece of trim to cover the ugly mufflers unlike the prototypes.

Is this new??

Look between the tailpipes.

Look at an earlier prototype

It's the same. It's just the lighting and BMW's clever Photoshop guru's working a little magic that make the muffler almost invisible.

It's for function. Stuff what it looks like, it's part of what makes the M3 drive like it does.

I think its just the angle that the phots were taken at. It dosn't bother me to much however you could paint them flat black to cover it up

does look a little different and side vent is definitely different....funny those two guys in the vert look like the same two I saw by my house couple months ago and in my pic the vent is covered up so I couldn't see anything, I know from the rear shots it still looked the same as coupe but like I said that was a couple months ago...

It's clearly an old photoshop. As you said, the gills are wrong, rear valence is wrong. Side skirt is spot on, so maybe a lucky guess on the photo shop or that bit isn't photoshopped at all. Evidence further of the photoshop comes just by looking at the rear BMW badge.

I remember there was a talk about this a few months back when there were sightings of the m3 mules in and more revealing mules in california. What happened was that around that same time, first official videos were being released. When compared the two, mule and m3 vid, the real valance was of question. It seemed like earlier production and mules would show more under there vs production from that point on.. or some point on. Now, we see all new m3's don't show it. I believe the difference between the two rear bumpers was that the more current indeed had a piece to hang lower and cover the the muffler vs the previous models/mules. It has been so from that point on.

If anyone has them that shows it off, should be expected to have been early production models... but hey.. i'm no expert.. im going by what i learned from being on this forum. If I had missed any news in between.. dont hold me to it lol

It's definitely a photo shop, but I'm curious as to why you think the giveaway is the side skirts? They are exactly like the M's side skirts.

The giveaway is the side vents, the rear skirt, the dodgy looking badge on the trunk.

Actually, this is an M3 cab. It's just that in the original picture it will have been disguised, and the photoshopped bits are the sections which will have been covered up in real life.

It's a chop. Worldcarfans said they only "removed some tape." Don't know why they weren't able to chop the e92 bumpers and side gills correctly...

Best regards, south
