Best E90 M3 Exhaust for $1,500 and under?

Guys,

I've been doing a lot of with regard to a good exhaust. As great as the Akra is, my current budget has a tough time stretching past $1,500 for an exhaust system.

I'm looking for:
  • Great Sound
  • Good Quality
  • Good/Easy Fitment
  • No drone
  • Good looking tips

At this time, I'm not looking to invest in the X-pipe yet. Saw a few videos but still torn as to what the best system would be.

Some of the one's I've considered (assuming it meets my price requirements):
  • Eisenmann Sport
  • Remus
  • Gintani
  • Vanguard Ti

Do advise.

Thanks guys

Modded OEM, weld on whatever tips you want. Sounds really, really good- better than Eisenmann, Remus, and Gintani IMO. The others I have not heard.

There are 3 ways to do it, from quietest to loudest:

-Replace 1 set (large) perforated pipes with straight pipe
-Replace both sets of perforated pipes with straight pipes (both sets)
-Cut out internal pipes, eliminating the cross within the OEM muffler and have it go out the side

Mine is done the first way and I love it, no drone.

Garage List
Most will be good and depending on how anxious you are, you can always find a deal on here.

Don't listen to anyone on here regarding sound as it is too subjective to make an informed decision.

Used would be your best bet. It may be harder to find a used E90 system in that price range.

If you want new then go:

Remus Sport
Billy Boat B&B Tri Flow
Borla
UUC/Corsa

UUC/Corsa sounds bad ass. Heard it in person a few days ago. Eisenmann race would be my first choice but I can't justify the $$$. The AE sounds good too and is also in your price range.

+1 but remember some exhausts have adjustable tips so they work for both e90/92.

Just wait for the Megan Racing e90 fitment to come out. For the price you cant beat the sound if you dont want to have a modded stock exhaust.

Agreed, ...it sounds great without primaries as well.

Also, Borlas ATAK mufflers sound absolutely awesome. I may want a set so my Megan could be up for sale soon (E92) though.

Megan Racing exhaust OR I would spring for the MRF mid pipe - 26HP and 21lbs of TQ. while still retaining the stock exhaust. Sounds great too

- Megan Racing $550 to $600 depending on where you get it.
- MRF Mid is $1500 I think (but I think they are having a Dec. Special)

Personally, after doing all this research on the forums I really want to find the right mid section (or xpipe) that will make me happy with the HP gains and sound = more smiles per mile.

Akra X pipe! Although its far more than 1500. But any way you can get rid of the primary cats will give you the power youre looking for from an exhaust, at least in NA form.
One thing to note, the oem exhaust with an x pipe tends to get very raspy.

Its a no brainer to try the OEM mod for 300 bucks. If you dont like it than go for something else.

Mine is less common mod with the middle cross-over pipes blocked off and each side of the muffler has a straight pipe going through.

I have an AA on mine and got it used on this forum. I think there are a few for sale at the moment under $1500 used.

autocoture does a great job doing custom stock exhausts.. they'll even throw new tips on, powdered coat it black, and it sounds sick! thats ur best bet and you'll have some $$ left over for more mods

SMMMURF -

I'm thinking of doing the same mod. It would be great if we could meet up so I can have a listen. Let me know if you're willing....I'm in San Ramon. Thanks.
