After less then 2 years the powder coat is peeling on one of the rear wheels. I contacted customer service by phone and their answer is these wheels have a one year warranty. The best they can do is replacement at their cost plus shipping. These wheels have only been cleaned with Black Magic Wheel Cleaner or Simple Green and waxed with Wheel Wax. There are no impact marks. They mentioned I am the first silver to peel but two other cases of their hyperblack have peeled. I am highly disappointed.

I always thought simple green was a pretty harsh chemical.

From my experience at the highline car garage I worked at for a while, poweder coating does break and peel. To fix it properly I understand it should be sand/walnut blasted and then re-done/baked. Might be cheaper to find someone local to redo or strip and paint the rim.

Why would you Simple Green?

Simple green has a low alkalinity of 9. For example water is rated at 7. Simple green is not the culprit, if it was, all my wheels would be peeling. Even Alufelgen has admitted that if it was something I did it would show up on all four wheels. Powder coating is a very durable finish and if the part has been properly prepared it would stand up to a basic biodegradable degreaser.
