i didn't know that. i thought 19's were too big, thus providing less traction in the snow.... i was initially planning to switch between 18's and 19's for winter and summer. but nonetheless,

Diameter of the wheel has nothing to do with how much traction you get. Think about it. As long as winter tires come in the correct sizes to accomodate the width of the wheels you are mounting them on. Note: wider is NOT better in the snow, so no need to fit super wide tires on your OEM wheels. For instance, the factory sizes on OEM 19" wheels is 245/35 and 265/35. For better winter performance you can run 225/40 and 255/40 - slightly narrower tires with slightly taller sidewalls, remember the 2nd number is a % of the width. So as long as the overall diameter is within 3% of the original, you are fine for against rubbing and speedometer readout.
