Nope, no damage. Don't worry about it. Engine takes care of itself. Slightly less performance but probably nothing you would notice in regular street driving. Your mileage might be affected, but again, barely noticeable.

My friend experimented with his 2006 M6 by filling it up with regular 87 octane gas a few times...under normal driving there was no noticeable difference.

I remember reading the HP will be reduced by 5-10% on the 335i. Can't recall where I read it though. Car will be fine as the computers will compensate for the lower octane.

I wouldn't push it until you cycle that gas out of there. The ECU will detect knock and retard the ignition timing, reducing power.

I wouldn't even worry about topping it off. It's not like it'll start knocking with how cold it is anyway. Well, for everyone but those in SoCal where's it's in the 70. Even then it's not a big deal. Just don't make it a habit.

lol. If it were my car I would fill the rest up with premium to offset the 87 (as others have mentioned already).

If you wanted to, you could fill the entire tank of the M3 with 87 octane gas. The engine would not fall apart. The ECU has 87 octane fallback programming, not to mention a state of the art knock detection system. It will only cause a loss in performance.
Fill it up with 91 to bring the total level up, and you'll be fine. We had a customer complain about our tune only to find out that he was filling up with 87 octane gas on the regular... He was surely surprised driving it with 91 .
