Help with phone- e90 sedan m3
Looked all over the forums and just cant find a good solution! Where the heck do you put your phone in an e90 m3?? Maybe if the cup holder by the middle had a container so it wouldnt have holes, but its also so darn small it may not even fit a phone.
I dont want to cover a vent either. Cant swap out the ash tray because id lose my power, i dont know, lost lol I had a magnet thing by my idrive but it fell off and am just tired of this problem, hopefully someone has a good real solution |

I have the magnetic clip thing that covers a vent.
Why would you lose your power? You don't have the USB slot in the center console?

I put mine in the center console if I don't need it.
If I do, I put it in the space in between the console and my shifter (where most people's i-Drive knob thing is). Fits perfect (Galaxy S8) and can reference it real quick if I need it for navigation. If those don't work, Ram Mounts are da bomb. Found them through the motorcycle world and slapped one on my old '71 Honda. Work great in cars and are intended to be tossed around, so they'll hold real tight if you're driving a bit spirited. |

Get a Proclip.
https://www.proclipusa.com/vehicle/d...series-m3/2008 Also - you can swap out the the ashtray and keep the power by running it into the passenger footwell. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=158 And then add back a power socket http://www.e90post.com/forums/showpo...&postcount=179

I use a clip magnet thingy and put it on the center vent towards the passenger. SO is usually cold and closes the vent anyway. She hasn't learned the wonder of split temp settings.

If you use a case on your phone, this magnetic one is super low-key and very effective. I use 'em in all my cars for all my devices now.

This mount is perfect it suction's onto your windshield and you put the magnet on the back of your phone and you just set it on and it stays, my phones never fallen off even while driving in the canyon.

The cigarette lighter mod doesn't appeal to me unfortunately. I like the pro clip. Ut once attached, what connects to it? Could it act as a giant magnet? |

Wouldnt it destroy the vent? I read some time ago that our e90 vents werent that strong and were breaking too? I like the idea in theory, i think i may be going with the mpow brand suggestion for the windshield mount |

https://www.proclipusa.com/product/8...-console-mount Once you have a mount, you also need a custom holder for your device. https://www.proclipusa.com/product-finder/device

I think the ash tray is perfect. Open he lid up and your phone is at an angle towards you. The sides are also secured, my iPhone 8 has never slid anywhere.

I generally do this, or just put it on the set between my legs.

They're so cheap I bought a 2-pack for by travel gear, I throw 'em in rental cars whenever I'm on the road, and if you forget one you're out like $4. It does block a small portion of the vent, but held vertically plenty of air still comes out, and held horizontally you get a supercooled phone for...I dunno. Benchmarking? |
