Thanks very much, I really appreciate that! I'm a big fan of your car. Without a drop, the car does look a little strange with 19" 3 pc wheels. But with a drop, it just gives it that really menacing look, I love it. Melbourne Red was actually my first choice, it's a stunning color!

I know right? It's got a few flaws here and there (seat doesn't recline, one door actuator doesn't work), but it's all fixable. The body is as straight as an arrow.

But I just have to remember, regardless of color rarity/beauty, I got this car to be my work horse. The car is still very cheap to run at the end of the day, compared to the E92 anyway.

On the way to C&C last week. I think I'm going to keep the E92 and wait on the F80. I just cannot part with it after all I've done to it, so many great memories:

Haven't updated my thread in a while. Most of the funds and time has been going into the E36, so the E92 only gets driven once or twice a week. The E36 is running like a champ now after all the work I've put into it though

Took it out on a mountain run on Jan 1st, because there's no better way to start the year. Pads are worn though, but I was expecting it:

Going to install some Ferodo DS2500 shortly. While I'm at it, I'm going to clean the wheels real good and get them rebalanced, and also going to do an oil change. When the weather warms up, I'm going to touch up the Mode Carbon lip and reinstall it properly (more attachment points).

I can honestly say though, after 2.5 years, it's still a thrill to own this car. One of the best cars I've ever owned.

Great pics and I agree, one of my best cars too...well, actually my favorite car to date. There isn't anything under $100K that tops it for me...yet.

I hope you can open her up a little out there. It's hard to have fun on the Blue Ridge Pkwy.

Thanks man! When you come back, we should go again. It was completely empty out there on that day.

Well, the actual Blue Ridge Parkway itself is just a road we take for scenery. The backroads that we've discovered are so much fun, and you can definitely pick up enough speed where brake fade will become an issue. That's why I'm really eager to try these pads out.

For me personally, I don't know if I can say $100k. At that price point, you've got used GT3's and Cayman GTS (never driven GT3 but always aspired to own one, love Caymans). But at under $60k, I just can't think of any other car I'd rather own. Vettes and Mustangs included.

With news on the M2 completely non-existent lately, I've been spending more and more time reading E36 M3 build threads. The plan was to sell it and get an M2, but the more I think about it, the more I want to keep it. The car is almost perfect mechanically, with everything gone through within the last 20k miles. Cooling system and transmission was overhauled within the last 5-7k miles.

So the plan might be to keep the E36 and E92, and rather than get the M2 right in the beginning, wait a few years and add the M2 to the mix. Got a long weekend coming up so she's going to get some attention aesthetically at the very least:

As for the E92, she's still running like a champ. Actually went up to C&C Charlotte last weekend to meet a couple of forum members (great meeting you guys btw!). Front tires need to be replaced with some nice beefy ones, but the 275/30/19 PSS is currently on national back order. Also have to refresh the MC lip, take the bumper off and mount it properly.

That's all I got for now. When all I have planned is done, I hope to take both of them out for a long overdue photoshoot.

Love your E36, dude. But you know that!

If you're gonna build out the E36, I could see some BBS E88s on that thing, particularly in gold.

You should photoshop the E36 with darker wheel centers like the E92, might be cool to make them look more alike.

Ha! That would be awesome, but those wheels would cost 75% of the car itself. If I were to keep this car, it wouldn't be a huge mod list left. Go square LTW's, get PSS for all of them, add X-brace and call it a day.

I'm usually not into super loud wheels, but Techno Violet with gold wheels sounds pretty good actually!

I've actually thought about doing that believe it or not. Go with a brushed gunmetal look or something.

Just read the entire thread...what a badass car! I am still looking for an M3 and can't wait to drive the roads in NC. My parents live in Spartanburg so I travel to the upstate area a few times a year. Let me know if you ever decide to sell it!

Just wanted to throw up some new pics. I still have to refit the Mode Carbon lip after a misshap like over a year ago. Also fitted some wider tires up front, but will definitely be going 275/30/19 next time. A lot of the funds are being diverted to adding an F80 right now

Had the privilege to see this in person over the weekend. What an immaculate machine and an out of this world exhaust note.

Thanks again, and nice to finally meet you.
