What is the best and most economical floor jack to buy that reaches center jack point
Anyone have a floor jack that will fit underneath the front of the car and reach the center jack point? (without having to lift the side of the car first). I found a couple ultra-low profile floor jacks at Harbor Freight, but I'm not sure they are long enough to reach that jack point.
Any help is appreciated. I'm tired of my current lifting process. It would much easier if I could reach that center point, lift and then place my jack stands under the car. BTW - I am running Eibach springs, so I am slightly lower than stock in the front. |

You will be hard pressed to find one that will work with a lowered car and any kind of front cosmetic enhancements. I use the AC Hydraulics one and it's awesome but to reach the center jack point there is no way around getting the car higher first.

Griots sells ramps. I wounder if the'll work? The ramp is 10.75 degrees. Griots advertise them as....
"2-Piece Vehicle Ramps, Set of 2 - Safely Raise The Front Or Rear Of Any Vehicle Even If It Is Ultra Low" and ".....allows use for the lowest of vehicles." Be nice if they work. |

Did you see what he wants for those? $339...that's pretty steep for a couple of plastic ramps. I bought something very similar at a local store here for $40 bucks. They probably aren't quite as nice as these, but still. That's highway robbery ;-)

The jack I use will reach the center jack point as long as the car is stock height and has no front lip. Otherwise some sort of ramps or jack stands will be needed to get the car up first.

Get a 6 foot section of 2 x 12. Cut it in half and make the cut at a 45 degree bevel. The bevels will be your ramps onto the 2 x 12s. Should get you high enough to work a $59 Harbor Freight aluminum jack under there unless your car is lowered.
