This tells you how to "reset" the service intervals on a regular 3-series.

I don't know if it works for the M3, but I don't see why it wouldn't. There is probably a difference between a "reset" and an "increment". I know that you can increment the estimated mileage to service for the brakes without resetting it. Resetting would most likely mean the indicator would go back to 25000 miles. I think incrementing can be done in 5000 mile steps.

Let us know if you try the procedure in the above link.

Hey man, don't you think it'd be a good idea to merge this thread with yours? Almost same title.
Or even better, how about changing the title to 'maintenance reset' or something that resembles what's being discussed? I opened this thread by accident, thinking it was yours. Just trying to help people down the line find important info. Hope you don't mind my suggestion . Take care.

Good point. The issue is if I merge the threads, things will line up by time index, and all of the initial posts in this thread will push the DIY post down. I'll change the title of this thread to see if that helps.

This didn't work for me btw with my brake pad replacement. I replaced all of the pads. As the sensors weren't tripped, I just put them back. I did the reset of the front and back brakes and got a change brake pads immediately message? There was no such message before I did the reset. I am going to see about clearing the code and see if that does it. It is possible I broke a sensor when putting it back together but they all seemed fine. So weird!
