Pulling Ahead with Production before August

I placed order on E92 M3 July 9th. When I checked with BMW customer relations 800# on Thursday July 16th, it said,- Estimated Production Completion July 28th. I checked again this morning, Monday July 19th, and it said,- Estimated Production Completion July 23rd !!! That is great news (that is if it is accurate), looks like they are really pulling ahead with production before August Shut Down.

Order Placed,- 07/09/10
In Production,- 07/16/10
Estimated Completion,- 07/23/10

It is kind of fast, isn't it?

My 2011 e93 is supposed to be done tomorrow, the 20th of July... can't wait to see how long it takes to get here...

Car just arrived at Port Hueneme and I'm waiting for it to get through the VPC. I'm hoping to have my car friday-ish.

I'm trying to get the timeframes figured out,- how long was it for you since M3 was built till Port?

Ordered the car on June 8th, car started production on the 14th and finished on the 17th. Car was loaded on the Rhea Leader and left on the 24th and arrived in Port Hueneme early today.

It is really fast... to build but,

4 weeks on ship?

Whats the average time going through VPC? I heard its unpredictable, could be a while or could be rushed?

Well you gotta remember, west coast cars have to go a LOT farther on the boat than east coast deliveries.

I've heard VPC times can vary a lot too, especially if there is an unexpected issue like the recent seat module problem they had.

Otherwise, it seems as though new cars are cleared through customs while on the boat, and cars that are custom ordered get through the VPC first. I'm hoping I'll have my car by this weekend.

BMW Customer Relations Automated Line 800- 831-1117 you will need your production # or your vin to get info.

Also, when prompted for you to say your production # , instead of saying it, you can simply punch in the #s
