Eisenmann Sport or Dinan Exhaust?
I finally sold my Eisenmann race from my 535I and ready to pull the trigger on a new system for my M3. I've narrowed it down to the Eisenmann Sport with connecting pipes ($3300) or Dinan Free Flow ($2600)
I can't see spending $700 extra on a similar setup. When I can use the money on other mods. I've heard the videos for both systems and like each one of them. Eisenmann has better looking tips but $700 can go pretty far somewhere else and is heavier than stock. Let me know what you guys think. I am looking at these two systems because of no drone and nice sound. Active Autoweke seems too boomy. Remus sport not loud enough. Akra Slip is too mild, but well built. This is also my DD for kids/wife etc. I looked at the Corsa but not in love with the cans. I'm ready to pull the trigger on Monday and wanted feedback from people that have had either one of the systems. Thanks, Dwayne

I haven't had either exhaust but when I was shopping for a Sport exhaust both were on my list. I ultimately ended up with the M Performance for a few reasons.
I've had the E. Race and am impressed with Eisenmann quality. Personally, between just the Eisenmann and Dinan I'd pick the Eisenmann. The Dinan does absolutely nothing for me in the looks dept. |

between the two, eis sport....sounds and looks better IMO. Challenge is also about to release an exhaust that they state has no drone...not sure if you want to contact them or wait for that product to be released

Denk,
Why did you choose the M Performance?

Well for a number of reasons based on thing's I read/researched. Comparing strictly the E. Sport and M Performance:
1) The E. Sport is bassier and still has a subtle drone compared to the M Perf 2) The M Perf is louder at WOT 3) M Perf is more aggressive sounding 4) M Perf is ~20lbs lighter (thanks to Inconel) 5) OEM To me the only thing the E. Sport had on the M Performance were looks and price by a slight margin respectively. I did try the Eisenmann Race and AA Signature to get the louder exhausts out of my system. They were a bit too much for me but awesome exhausts if you can tolerate a bit of drone. Absolutely no regrets with the M Performance, it still reigns king for me. The Eisenmann Sport would've been my second choice. |

This is such a hard choice. I did watch the M Perf Video and the car sounded awesome! The price is almost the same as the Eisenmann with discount. Now you've made me think even harder. I did love the quality of my Eisenmann but I think the exotic tone would appeal to me. Does the M Perf come with heat shields on the connecting pipes?

Eisenmann Sport has one of the nicest tones there is, plus it is extremely well built and the tips are one of my favourites. Dinan tips and mufflers are hideous looking IMO.

Phil, yes I do and you were a big help! I'm ready to make the move but just need to make sure I buy the right setup.

Not yet, only videos on you tube. I am only familiar with the Eisenmann build quality and the E race on my 535I. The IND guys are recommending the Sport. The say the Dinan is louder than the sport. I'm just torn because Dinan is less money and they back their products. The savings would allow for more mods. Everyone says the tips are better on the Eisenmann, but I am behind the drivers seat! I'm not looking at the rear end.
I'm not entering contests or photo shoots...I'm driving my monster of a V8!

IMO, you need to hear each exhaust in person as vids will not capture how each sound TO YOU....
we all have slightly different sensitivity to bass, rasp, drone, etc....so it's hard to take other's word for it no matter how well they describe and/or record it... most tend to chime in/vote with what they've purchased rather than various experience with different brands.... I know JO8M3 and kitw are excluded from the above as they've seemed to have owned almost every brand available..

This will come down to what sounds good to you. I would guess that listening to every possible exhaust would not be possible so you'll have to go with your research to some degree. I think product quality and after the sale support will also be key. Keep us posted on your decision..........Phil

Out of those two, I would get the eis sport based on looks and sound. But honestly, it you are willing to spend 3k plus, you should look at the new system evolve just released. Personally, I think it is the best non-titanium system available.

I have dinan and I am very pleased with it. I personally think the tips/mufflers look good, especially on my aw car.
The sound is excellent and the fitment was spot on. The sound is aggressive at high rpm and calm around town. Combined with turner test pipes the sound is incredible and the power gains are huge. And the sound is not too loud at all (I hate drone). I have a quick vid that I can sed via text to anyone who is interested. Also, I'd recommend buying used. I bought my dinan muffler used for 1600 and it was in excellent shape.

I will comment only on the family DD aspect as others have already talked about tone and looks.
My Dinan is perfect for daily duties with the kids. No drone and tame enough still for naps! I have no problems around town and I don't draw too many stares in nicer neighborhoods. Obviously each person's criteria for an exhaust are different, so to each their own. I am really happy with my Dinan.
