someone should make a sticky of the service intervals and required maintenance ?

I noticed after reading thru various threads that some dealerships seem to give people a hard time about performing maintenance that should be included.

I think it would be helpful if someone posted a sticky of the mileage and services that should be performed based on DCT or 6-speed manual.

This way we have a go to reference point or maybe even a printout of what should be performed.

Just a suggestion!

Thanks -

I get the majority of my service intervals from the manual that comes with the car. Not sure what else you guys are looking for

Other than oil changes, I've been following those intervals. I change my oil every 7,500 miles based on the oil reports I've had for every oil change.

one problem with the manual is that it says the coolant is lifetime fill.it also doesn't say anything about belts , hoses ,water pumps , power steering fluid or fuel filters,if i remember it right. these are all maintenance items, especially for those who hope to keep the car for a long time.

problem is, BMW makes changes in their internal system on these maintenance schedule, so that's why there's variance. At the end of the day, it's up your SA to give it to you ahead of schedule or not.

My spark plugs were done on 4 year mark at 20k miles at my dealer, when the guy across town refuses to do such on another M3 with a comparable maintenance plan timeline... blah.

It also only mentions the transmission fluid and differential fluid being changed at the 1200 mile service, but doesn't mention it again after that... Under the "Vehicle Check" section, it just lists things to check, nothing to flush or change (all items that robbiedawg mentioned...)

The service manual also states this under the "Vehicle Check" section:

Check expiration date on the M Mobility System
sealant bottle. Change sealant bottle if
needed at additional charge.

What is the M Mobility System sealant bottle???

It's part of the kit in the trunk in case you get a flat. There is a bottle of sealant and a pump.
