If you can load music, then it may be the drive or the NAV files. If nothing loads, then you may want to check the USB interface.
I was able to transfer music from my glovebox USB just fine.

How did you download the update; via kmarei's site or from the torrent? If it's a torrent run a check on it to make sure it's not corrupted. If it's a .rar file try extracting it again. Format the USB drive again fat32, copy the update to it again and test. All you should have in the root of your USB drive (drive must be 32gb or larger) is the folder pkgdb and a file called config.nfm. The update is 21.2GB in size.

Just maps. There is no easy way to upgrade the software, like to say get BMW Apps. Mike Benvo I believe can do such upgrades.

Just updated my 2011 to the 2013 maps. Plug & Play process and took ~30 - 40 mins. Big thank you to Kmarei for hosting, *******@inbox for the code and this thread for making me aware of the update

It looks as though the 2013 has much more satellite images in my area vs 2010 version that was loaded on my car.

Updated my 2011 E90 last night and worked great! Thanks again to Kmarei for hosting the file and to Sergej for the FSC code. Very pleased with how easy the process was.

Updated to 2013i Premium using mem stick from tischer and code from Sergej. Worked like a charm - about 40 minutes to load then rebooted and 2013's your uncle.

Where did you obtain the BMW media and cost? I'm in Houston as well.
Thanks.

Downloaded the files and Winzip automatically opened the pkgdb folder and extracted all the files. I'm assuming the car will still read the files just fine, is this a correct assumption?

Hi Guys,

I'll be honest. When it come to electronic I'm pretty much slow. I have a 2008 E92 M3, it's build date 12/07. (I know first one in line at the time). I am looking to update my NAV and Maps. What do I need to do? Is it possible to update software and maps? If you could give me step by step instructions I greatly appreciate it.

In order to update the Nav you have to do a CIC retro (search the forum for this). If you just want new maps you have to get the 2013 disc...........Phil

NAV Update

Quick question...
After entering the FSC code and clicking 'Ok' what should I see? My system never gave me any indication that it was actually updating the SW. I would expect some kind of "updating in progress" screen with maybe a progress bar??

Hey guys - not to be daft but I tried to snag the .rar using this link ( kmarei.minidns.net:8000/m/BMW_CIC_NAVIGATION_NORTH_AMERICA_2013.rar ), which appears to be down at least on this connection; i.e., "The server at kmarei.minidns.net is taking too long to respond."

Can anyone confirm whether that's still live? Am I too late to the party?

I restarted it anyway to be on the safe side
Let me know I'd you continue to have issues

It's live! I had to try from a different connection. Must've been a firewall issue at work. HooRAY!!!

UPDATE
Everything installed perfectly. Totally high-fived myself. Thanks to kmarei, thanks to Sergej!

It says on Tischer that pre-9/2009 CIC vehicles will need to go the dealership for upgrade so will I not be able to use the USB stick with the FSC code. I'm trying to find out but can't get a conclusive answer, even called the nearby dealership and they didn't know whether I need the USB or DVDs. I have a 2009 M3 with a build date of 03/2009. Anyone have any ideas or should I just give it a try? Been reading for hours.
