Break pad service

Bought my car used with 17,000 miles. I now have 19,500. When should I replace my break pads? On the idrive it says 18,000 for the front and 21,000 for the rear, but I want to replace them all at once. Would it be bad to wait till 21,000 miles and just replace them all?

1. It's brake pads, they are not broken (hopefully)
2. The Idrive is telling you the number of miles until replacement, not the odometer mileage. Ie you will need to replace your front/rears in 18k and 21k miles, respectively and not when when the odo hits 18 or 20.

OHH, I see. I thought the number under the services was what mileage I should service the car. I guess just wait till I get a service light, then?

Right on. You will also notice that when you start the car the mileage until the next required service will appear briefly on the screen in the middle of the instrument cluster.
