Close-up angles of M Performance rear CF spoiler
many pics have been posted of M3s with the M performance rear spolier, but I couldn't find many that really gave you an idea of how dramatic a piece it actually is (for those who haven't seen one in real life).
It is a very dramatic piece and really gives the rear of the car a much sportier look. Being OEM, fitment is spot-on. I used the BMW Betalink adhesive. So here are the pics...hopefully they capture the true details of the piece for those who haven't seen it in real life: It is much "steeper" than it looks in most pics Here's one in comparison the the standard trunk lip: Hope this helps if you are thinking about this mod

That is a very nice piece. Looks good. I'm thinking spoiler delete altogether.

You know....when I took the trunk lip off and cleaned it all up, it looked pretty good, actually. Very clean look. The trunk edge is tapered up ever so slightly on its own even without the lip.

What did you use to clean up the glue without harming your paint?

Nice pics! I love the E92 M Perf Spoiler. I wish the E90 M was a little more aggressive as well.
On another note, your garage looks incredibly clean!

Yup, I love how subtly aggressive the spoiler is.
OEM+ or bust!

Really nice, but is it possible to put the e92 version on an e90? I like how much more aggressive the coupe version is compared to sedan, it seems taller n more angular, or I'm going crazy, lol

This method did leave some very faint scratches in the clear coat but I didn't care since I was installing the new piece. It wasn't anything that couldn't be easily buffed out with some rubbing compound and an orbital polisher, however. Easier if you let the Goo Gone really soak into the foam tape residue.

Very nice. Do you have a pic with no spoiler at all?
I wish the E90 one was as dramatic as the E92!!

Thought about taking pics through the whole process, but I didn't. Sorry. Actually, I didn't know there was a difference between the coupe and sedan spoilers. Thought the trunk lids were essentially the same geometry on the rear edge.

Willing to bet the fishing line method will leave less residue also. I didn't have any and the technique I used was posted on youtube. Not sure dental floss would be strong enough. Although your trunk would smell minty clean.
