Yeah my friend ..That would be one of my new projects as well .
I'm burried in new projects at my work for 2017 , but a S65 bearing project with my American friends sounds like a dream vacation to me

Good to hear you found the right people with the necessary knowledge for your S65 bearing replacement

What a pleasant surprise ! Thank you sir for your invitition
But for the next 6 months I'm buried in my work with new projects , today I came back home from work and it was 00:30 AM and while I'm typing this works I'm eating finally my dinner .
I know you and your family are really kind people , and that's why I appreciate your invitition even more .
So I'm really sorry my friend , I can't find the time to come to your bearing project by my work .
Of course I will follow your thread like I promised , your thread I stored already with my favorites .And I wish you the best of luck with your bearing project ...
Thank you !

All done!

Thank you to Trevor, his wife and his dog for the hospitality
Thank you Chris for dropping by and helping out
And of course thank you to Onur for placing the trust in us to work on his car!

Edit: the biggest thank you is to BE Bearings. Thank you guys for uncovering this issue and saving countless M3s!

A few notes
As expected, the engine mounts were fried. At 39k miles.
As others have stated, there is no need to remove the fan. It can be done perfectly without that step. I will be amending the DIY as this saves a lot of time!
The rod bearings didn't look good, especially around the parting lines which is very different than my 2011 M3 of the DIY.

Thanks again

Danny and Nicky

It was such a lovely and pleasurable fix that I every done in my entire life. Danny and Nicky amazing people, Trevor and Chris such a nice guys. What else I can ask for? Nice people with knowledge and amazingly high quality fix and I cleaned every single piece of the undercarriage since they were doing the bearings

Special Thanks for the BEBearing who dedicated their time and effort to save the most amazing v8 is ever built.

The project started at 8:30am and totally finished at 4:30pm

That is a shorty lift to fit normal ceiling garages. You probably could have one in your garage. You won't be able to stand up under the car but you can roll around on a stool under it.

Here is the First Excited Start :

I'm sure this bearing job was good work ...
The motor mounts were completely shot (actually broken) at only 39K ...Wow ! I'm sure this S65 will run smoother now with less engine vibrations in cabine .

For only 39K there was bearing wear , I saw worse... but for only 39K it was time . This S65 was not ready to run another 20K with this bearing wear !
So you guys caught the S65 major problem on time !

As for the video...
I'm 100% sure => I heard the S65 cold start clunk noise ...Like most (not DD) have ...Same thing here with my S65.
After the cold start clunk noise came the cold start cycle , and this S65 was running smooth even for the rough S65 cold start cycle .

Conclusion...
This team from forum members did a great job , experience and knowledge was present in the pics !
Congrats to all !
And for my friend SaNGRia thanks for sharing , I really enjoyed your thread ( And I had to click on the pics)
Thank you !

Mike, I've been seriously considering this since my ceiling is only 9". I like that it's portable and can even be wheeled down to my driveway.
