m3 dies at stoplights - anyone else having this?

I have a 2011 m3. Once warmed up and I come to a stoplight the engine has a irregular idle, revs slightly then dies. I've been to the dealer and they can't find it. I have tried different gasolines but both Chevron and Shell cause the same problem. Any ideas?

Happened to me last week. Took it to the dealer and they couldn't replicate it so they just notated my account of the issue. I've had it oscillate a couple times but that was the first time it died.

Mine bobbles occasionally at idle once its warmed up, but hasn't died yet. My dealer didn't have a clue either. Let us know if you figure it out!

I would get a very thorough diagnostic. My first engine did this 'irregular idle' you describe but i ignored it. After several days passed by my engine completely stopped working.

Long story short, I had to buy a new motor for my e92 m3 (spent 27k on brand new s65 engine because didnt have warranty). it had a bad rod bearing issue

my advice: dont wait. get it diagnosed by mechanic. Fix any bugs right away before they become costly

Sounds like it may be a vacuum related issue. Some of these cars have had the brake boosters replaced due to something similar. How's it run w/ AC on and clutch in?

This is what I was going to say, especially if it's only at traffic lights.

I wanted to make a joke that it's the auto start stop feature, but you beat me to it....and were serious.

After owning my 08 for a long time and getting my 11 the first time it shut it self off it caught me off guard too. But then I remembered the feature and quickly disabled.

Where do you live?

US M3s have this feature disabled by default.
