Vehicle Prep Center- What happens here?

After cars are shipped to the US they go to a Vehicle Preparation Center. What occurs at the Prep Centers?

The article says: "At the quickest, a Priority One car could be fully processed in two days."

What is a priority 1 car?

And yes, I expect the M3 to be a priority 1 car

priority 1 is a pre sold car.

figured while im in here i might as well give you all a break down

priority one means a car is marked sold, priority r or 0 is for ED, priority 9 is PCD, priority 2 dealers own use, priority 3 is for stock, priority 4 is to slow walk the vehicle to prevent overstock, and priority 5 is up for grabs as the dealer has no need or doesn't want it

So does that mean that PCD cars are at the bottom of the list? Or did you list them in order of priority?

No.

I suspect that anything long distance does but deliveries from the Oxnard VPC to dealers in Los Angeles come covered and not.

Hey Yogi. How's the snow down there? Cleared up yet? PCD is considered a sold vehicle and given top priority.

I hope your Falcons win this week!

What's the good word David!

Tons (for Atlanta that is) of snow still on the ground. Sun started coming through yesterday and today so the roads are starting to clear up. A lot of stuff still shutdown though.

Thanks for the clarif on the PCD priority!

Can't wait for this weekend. Falcons all the way!

Can I get clarification on some of the acronyms? What is ED and PCD? Are cars that are ordered by a customer and waiting delivery priority 1 or priority 9 (PCD)?

ok sorry, PCD is performance center delivery, ED is Euro delivery. as far as the priority it depends on where your picking up the car, if your picking it up at the dealer it should be priority one if your picking it up at the performance center is should be priority nine

I bought a tow hook license plate holder for my front bumper. I called my dealership and asked them not to drill for the front license plate. He told me occasionally they drill for the front plate at the Vehicle Preparation Center before the car gets to the dealership. The car is arriving at Port Huaneme in CA. Is this true?
