You go on the road tour of Saratoga Battlefield National Monument and all the way round you are thinking "this would make a great track"!

http://www.nps.gov/sara/index.htm

Click in the "view map" button and look at the blue line. Lots of curves and elevation changes!

I love this...

You buy a set of tires even though your current set are still new because you "might" get slightly better turn-in

You find yourself in late-November New York, thinking that every day is one day closer to March/April...

this is amazing!!! LFMAO!!!

I am so with you on most points, taking the right lines thru the turns even if you doing the speed limit! We don't do the hend out the window here in Germany, but i remember the good ol days in the states!

... when you see that tool in a 997, and it's a 70% chance that he can't drive it...

... when someone who owns an american muscle tells you that they are faster, and you laugh and say "around the tree"
... when the most interesting roads have a very low speed limit, and you think it should be triple that...
... when someone passes you, you say to yourself "i'd take you out on the track"...
... when someone has oversize wheels on a "sporty" car, you say to yourself "that would never work on the track"...
... you use the car heater in the summer, so that the engine can cool off better...
... you started playing video games, to get yourself familiar with the track...
...

You know you like driving in snow when...

... you don't go to bed the night the storm is supposed to hit, and you are sitting with the cleaning trucks at the same coffee shop waiting for the first snow flakes...
... you take a day off work just to be the only one on the streets enjoying it...

... your spouse wants to move and one of the primary drawbacks is that there's only one track. As opposed to the three I have within 90 minutes right now.

..... When you have been living in your city for 2 years now but have yet to have gone to the track once yet here and you slowly start to get sad thinking of what "could have been."

You use oversteer at the grocery store to negotiate the aisles and other carts.

Every - single - time!

...when you turn off DSC only for switching cars (standing behind each other here)
...when you kick the throttle when shifting down
...when you use "kerbs" on public roads

...when you call cops "Race Control"

...you do a lap around the block to cool down before you enter your driveway

...if you slow down when you see something yellow flapping in the wind

...if you keep your front windows completely open...on the freeway...in the rain

And you know you've done too many track events...

...if you feel vaguely uneasy when showering without a wrist band

This is the best thread ever. There's nothing I can possibly add. It's going to be a long, cold winter.
