You wont have much grip on those summer tires in the cold. You can do it but just drive with ease.

I live in the middle of Iowa (originally from Moline, IL) and I've had my E92 M3 for a week now and have been driving it back and forth to work on the factory 19"s just fine and the lowest it's been is low to mid 30's and it's been fine.

I plan on making it thru this winter without snow tires (since the season is almost over) and then getting some early next season. I mean I'm not going to drive it in snow (I'll bum a ride to work) but anything other than snow it'll be fine

40s is fine. I took mine out a few days ago when it was cold and it was fine. The ground is cold and the tires are hard, but it's still not a problem. I gunned the crap out of it and did get the tail out a bit, but thats cause I was being a dick and screwing around. As for taking it out tomorrow, go ahead and enjoy the damn thing, but be home by friday cause we are getting snow.

In low temp, the PS2s are like rocks. Be really gentle on gas and don't punch the car around corners.

Dude you will be totally fine. My car has been out in around even while it was way colder and a bit of snow and slush around some side streets. I live smack downtown no problems at all.

Matter of fact I just parked the car a few hours ago, you should be okay, but keep in mind it is a little colder up in Millwaukee

Raf is right, just take it easy but you could still dick around a little bit.

Yep, you'll be fine. I've drive mine to work in NYC and the temps have been in the teens. No problems at all. Just don't punch the gas and definately don't do it with sport mode on. I've even driven it in the snow on my way home a few times lol. Granted it's parked in a garage and the tires are'nt frozen when I leave. However, if the car is left outside in cold temps and there is snow on the ground, it's useless.

If the weather holds, you will be fine. Just take it somewhat easy.
Just make sure it doesn't snow, or else call a tow truck.

You will be fine as long as you take it easy. But snow tires will be your best bet. As what others told you, the rubber compound of the summer tires will be hard rock under under 40F.

i've driven in winter while riding on summer tires... as long as there's no snow/ice on the road, you'd be fine. so if the roads are clean, i say go ahead and drive your car

+1 same here.

But with snow and ice put DSC sometimes totally OFF for a little more traction(because sometimes you get stuck and the tractioncontrol cuts the power too much) and sideways action(IF TRAFFIC allows it off course)
