Dealer installed aftermarket exhaust?

Has anyone here had their aftermarket axle back installed by dealer, cost? service? workmanship? thoughts?

Thanks in advanced

Yep had mine installed before I picked up the car when it was new.No regrets and is a great addition to our cars with the proper noise level for an everyday car.

Is this the M performance exhaust? ie. light weight muffler costing in the $4-5K range. I'm thinking about this but the price is a little daunting. Do you have any more specific comments on that piece?

I bought the BMW M Performance exhaust from BMW Morristown's eBay site for $3,100 (no sales tax) and had it installed at BMW of Austin for $200 (used CCA discount) I love the exhaust, next up are ACM test pipes and BPM stage 2 tune, not sure where I can get the test pipes installed.

Yep BMW Performance Exhaust. Its quite quiet at lower RPM but really wakes up over 4000 rpm with different tones all over the rev range.Because it was installed at delivery it is under warranty the same as the complete car.

Since the M performance exhaust is OEM, it is covered by the longer of the remainder of the 4 yr. 50k warranty or 2 yrs I believe.

Hmmm, you guys are tempting me. I would probably install it myself and then would assume that the warranty would be 1 year. In my experience, not too much can go wrong with a muffler. I'll make some calls to the dealership and get some pricing.

Thanks for the info.

Getting an exhaust installed at a dealer is not going to be a big deal. All my Dinan parts were installed at the Dealer and also my AP Racing BBK. An exhaust install is certainly going to be an easy install for a BMW Tech.

PM me if you would like to get a quote from a BMW Tech - I know a few people have used him for various jobs on their cars and he is on our Chumpcar team and wrenches our E30.

Thanks for the offer to help. I've been turning wrenches on my cars for more years than I care to admit. I actually look forward to installing things like this. I know it's a bolt-on and with my garage pit, should be easy to do.

I doubt a dealer would install an aftermarket exhaust for you. I would suggest an Indy exhaust shop, they offer cheaper shop rates and you can often avoid the tax.

If you live in the Central / East GTA area I would highly recommend Majestic Muffler. These guys know their stuff.

Thanks for all the inputs guys, my exhaust is almost here, excited!

Anyone heard of or used Gtek near OConnor and Woodbine? That's sort of near downtown toronto and I've heard some good things about them with Euro cars.

^ they work primarily on Porsche cars.

If you are in North Toronto, you can check out sportscar boutique in Thornhill as well
