Correct, you can transfer to different state just keep in mind that some states require you to pay the tax up front. Example - 30 payments left at 7% tax - $675 pre-tax payment = 30 x 47.25 = $1,417.50 up front when you register the car.

This is obviously on top of the $500 transfer fee BMW charges.

Just an FYI - I've used BMWFS many times for transfers (4 to be exact) and dealt with different states.

if the new owner was in california, or any other state where taxes are added to the monthly payment, the new owner will have taxes added to the $699 payment and you would be able to get a tax refund on your sale... i could be wrong.

[QUOTE=Bx Tpr;14629300]Looking to get out of a 36 month lease. Approximately 6200 miles on it picked it up in January. Melbourne red and the DCT are the only two options I ordered with the car. Monthly payment is $699 and thats taxes included. Current buyout is $59,663 and contract end date is Jan/26/2016. 10,000 mile a year allowance. I don't drive this thing and I don't want it parked. PM for phone number if interested. Had it listed a few weeks ago but took it off cause I thought I had a local buyer. I'm not looking for any down payment. I WILL PAY FOR THE LEASE TRANSFER FEES FOR THE BUYER.

I am interested please pm me your phone number.

FYI I just took over an out of state 135i lease and registered in MD. 12 months left. In MD, we have 6% title tax.

First they said I have to pay the tax on the original value of the car bought new (44k).

I argued, the lady got her manager. He said I have to pay the tax on the current value of the car (33k).

I argued with him and they did some BS calculation:

(Cars Current Value) - {(Lease Payment) * (# of Months on the Lease)}

So 33k - (500*36) = 15k. So I paid 6% of that for the remaining 12 months on the lease.

Bump. I'm now offering a $1000 incentive to anyone who takes the car. So I pay for the credit app and $1000 cash on top of that to the new owner.
