Thanks, I really think it will be. The sti had great handling, but a terrible ride and I was uninspired by the sound and feel of the powerplant. The GT500 was exactly the opposite. The M3 has both, in spades.

I like a lot of the small things the M3 does that I would never ask for in a car but appreciate. For instance, the passenger mirror auto aims down so I can watch the curb as I back up. That's something I always did with the controls on my old cars and never once thought the car should do it for me. Pretty cool.

Congrats. I would suggest that at a minimum you change the brake fluid to something that handles a higher temp and get a set of pads for the track. The stock pads will melt very quickly especially at Thunderhill and Laguna Seca.

Congrats! You'll love the sedan, and enjoy all of the smaller features BMW offers.

Certainly will look at upgrading the fluids and pads in short order. For now, I'm just planning on running street style tires on the 18s and focusing on car control and smooth driving. Once I get some seat time like that, I'll be due for a flush and pads and will step it up in concert with more aggressive tires.

When I said no mods, I meant not chasing power are significantly trying to alter the suspension. This car is way more capable than I am stock.

Break in is slow going...

Congrats and welcome to the sedan crew! I would love to know how many people actually know what FNG means. Haha

From urbandictionary.com

F#$%ing New Guy.
A term used in 'Nam to denote someone new in country. Troops who had some time under their belt wouldn't talk to them until they proved that they wouldn't die within the first few days.

Not just in 'Nam! A friend of mine is a pilot in the Navy. Even though he has served for 8 years he is new to his squadron... His name badge says nothing but "FNG".
