Secondly, most believe there will be no US E92 CSL M3. Biggest reason being US admission laws.

Here is a nice little synopsis of information about the E46 CSL from Wikipedia:
M3 CSL (E46) Of the limited-run models of the M3, the M3 CSL (E46) is the most celebrated. BMW made a limited run (less than 1,400 units) of these machines between June and December of 2003. The CSL (Coupe Sport, Lightweight) received an aggressive weight reduction campaign, more power (up to 360 hp), and sharper handling characteristics than the standard M3, courtesy of semi-slick racing tires. From the exterior, the CSL is distinguished from its standard sibling with a different wheel design, larger integrated rear spoiler and a large air intake hole on the left side of the front bumper. Weight loss was achieved via a carbon-fiber roof, a trunk floor that was practically made of cardboard, no air conditioning, no radio, and the removal of several other features standard in a regular M3 as standard. Thse options could then be re-added at the request of the owner. Upgraded racing seats were fitted, and the aforementioned sequential manual gearbox was made standard. Owing to the small production run and the complications of clearing DOT and EPA standards for the North American market, BMW never exported the CSL to the United States, although some parts from it (modified steering rack, alcantara steering wheel, uprated front brakes, a different DSC system and 19" BBS wheels) were made available on the regular M3 as part of an optional Competition Package. While the CSL almost took its game to Ferrari's 360, priced twice as much, this version of the M3 is criticized as too racing-oriented and significantly pricier than the standard model. Focusing on weight loss, the CSL becomes less of an everyday car the M3 is known for, because of no aircon and sound system, among other features taken out from the regular car. The CSL is also not available in a manual gearbox, and some purists still don't find the SMG transmission any more exciting despite offering similar performance.

Also, the E46 CSL was only offered in silver and black.

The E46 M3 CSL is a mad, bad car. It's a bit of a one-trick pony since the only way to drive it is side-ways and under full-throttle. Ultimatley though it is far more engaging than a standard M3, I owned 3 E46 M3's and the longest I kept one was 2 years, whereas I have owned my CSL for nearly 4 years and it is still proving impossible to sell (my kids threaten to disown me and my wife will not speak to me if it goes...). It's because of my E46 CSL that I just 'have' to own an E92 CSL, I seriously would choose it over any Ferrari or Porsche.

Would you fancy a swap for an E36 Steved?
I'll even throw in four M3's in the boot. One's a grey CSL...

Well if you want a CSL why not do it yourself? Easy as and saves a heap of cash!
1.Remove all the seats & replace the front drivers one with a racing seat (Like what Hartge did with the H50 and a GT3 racing seat). Taking care to remove anything else not deemed necessary such as the centre console arm rest, a/c, radio and so on. 2. Install roll cage 3. Race set-up suspension (4. You could probably even get an aftermarket carbon fibre bonnet, that'd look pretty cool.) Then just get it on the track! And there you have it. DIY E92 M3 CSL.

Senior exec in BMW UK. The only factor I can see delaying that timing is how BMW finally decide to launch the E90 M3 and the Touring, which are still under 'evaluation' at the moment.

Yeah definately if i wind up doing it!
Still weighing up if i want an M3 for a daily driver or a track car, as here in Aus once you install a roll cage in a car aftermarket you can no longer drive it on the road.

Hey mate, is that a Sydney law? I had a nice ride in a 996 GT3 with a roll cage a few months back.

The gt3's are legal as it's factory fitted and so on. Whereas if you do it aftermarket you are modifying the car's structure and they won't allow you to register it. (or something along those lines). Also hence why i've been looking into a 996 gt3 as they're relatively cheap and kills 2 birds with one stone... well sorta..
