My engine did blow up after owning my brand new ///M for just 5 weeks, people like you would be the reason they stop covering engines under warranty. Don't buy a SC, go get a C63 instead.

this is lol.
BMWNA will do research, like go onto forums and find out from threads like this that you did SC your car and blacklist you. They're not going to spend 20k of their own money without doing research and find out why it blew up b/c engines dont just blow up randomly.

If for some reason the engine blows up, can I remove the supercharger kit, flash the ECU to stock and take it to a dealership that hasn't seen the car before, do you think they will do the work to replace the motor?
Yes, being dishonest is always an option.

BMW Field Techs are literally ex-detectives with IT degrees. They will always know what you did last summer, and the next.

Well, you just wrote page one of your paper trail, congratulations. I for one am never going to touch my M3, nope, not even tints. I will, however, post lots of pictures of my buddy's modded car. He parks his car in my garage and lets me drive it everyday.

It is hard to picture an engine blowing up, and you being able to remove items after such an explosion, and the car still be drivable. Or, the engine bay being an easy place to work in and out of.

Not that I am advocating this, but your best bet (if the engine does blow up) would be to set the entire car on fire, or blow the entire car up and hope that insurance pays for it. This could land you in jail, but I don't think you are too concerned with that...

I would suggest getting an EVO, save yourself the stress.

Here is some sound advice.

If you feel the need to supercharge an E92 M3, then you should instead go buy an American Muscle Car. The designers at M group did a great job making a wonderful car...don't screw with it. Once you supercharge the car, sure its fun, but it throws off the balance of a perfect car. If you want a car that just drives straight, go get a C63.

Secondly, the car is always on record...that being said, the computer has memory of everything you do with the car. That is part of what the 2 hour "programming" the dealer does on every oil service. The factory downloads the information to hopefully learn about vehicle usage etc.

Also, when you bolt on a supercharger, the kit rests on the front strut tower and often times will put a groove in the metal in addition to wearing grooves in other places.

If a dealership really wants to be jerks, your warranty will be voided. Be prepared then when your car asks for brake service that you will have to pay to get that maintenance at an independent shop because the dealer will flag your engine as modified.

Marcus,
BMW will know when you bring the car in the mods that are on your car. A lot of the techs are very interested in the "mods" you have on your car when you bring it in for normal service. Basically once you have a supercharger, your warranty is void. There really isn't much you can do about it.

A rod shot through the side of my block, not due to a supercharger or any abuse. I have records of the detailed analysis BMW performed on the damaged motor & other systems, in an attempt to determine the exact cause of failure. It is a log of "BMW NA requests ___", followed by "checked ___ as requested, found ____". 2 pages and several days worth of tests, and in the end, they found it was not my fault & installed a new, crate motor, under warranty.

Just as you're trying to get something fixed under warranty, they are looking for reasons why they should NOT fix it.
