This is not a "dead-on-center" shot. It's on the side favoring the AiB. Both look non-uniform in brightness even thought the AiB's are favored here.
Best solution for all-angle viewing is OSS, all others will be inferior in multiple ways.

The center of the windshield does not line up with the roundel, nor perfectly split the vertical lines on the rear window.

you can tell it's not dead center cause even a GP Thunder crappy bulb will light the outer ring from in front, just look at the pics I posted of one.

Has anyone researched the new LED angel eyes on the '11 models? I saw a new 335 side by side with the M3 at the Welt in Munich and its amazing how yellow the M3 rings look and the new LED rings are really bright.

Yeah I think it's a whole new assembly, but don't quote me on this.

They don't fit, completely different housing - doesn't fit the E9x M3 bumper.

Plus, you want your car to look different than the 335 with the illuminated "brow" that the new lights have.

AiBs FTW IMO

The new LED angel eyes on the 2011 3-series and the 2011 5-series are killer though. I believe AiB's can achieve a similar result. I'll find out in about a week!

The only way to describe the new angels: they are FKING bright. They basically light up the whole housing. I checked it out at the Welt for my ED. AiB does not come any close tbh.

I am not sure what LUX version this was, but the center ring of the LUX kit was brighter than the center ring of the AIB kit, however, just like the photo shows, the outer ring on the AIB kit was at least 50% brighter. That is what I saw, and it is what I captured on film-no photoshop involved in this photo other than our watermark on the bottom and the text.

I have send brandon a PM about this. This is NOT a fair comparison picture and i have politely asked you to REMOVE this picture from all posts. I would have liked to keep this a private matter, but you are now making it public to everyone.. This photo is misleading and not centered.

Any photo's of angel eyes NEED to be taken from 20 feet back or more. otherwise you have a bad angel of the car and it is not a fair representation of the angel eyes. How can you say the outer ring is not bright when you look at a real picture like this.

This thread stays alive for a while longer. Maybe EAS will post up a different photo.....

It appears the photo was taken a bit off-center and that could effect the lighting results....making one product appear superior to the other. I think we all can see that now.

Now that we have that resolved, lets move on.

BTW, I have received a few complaints about this thread.......hence the above statement. I don't think there was an intent to deceive anybody. If that turns out to not be the case, further action will be taken.

The history here needs to stay. For one, we (well the mods actually, perhaps at your (mds82) request) shouldn't just censor stuff out of the forums. Secondly, the process that was gone through here is an important one. A slice of a true grass roots/democratic response to a bit of vendor misinformation.

The problem with this forum is some of the vendors have become like sharks, dying for your business. It's happening here and it's happening big time with the ECU tunes and S/C kit threads. Some people are having trouble admitting there can be more than one good/quality choice for a number of different mods. It has lead to countless arguments between vendors and their fanboys (or whoever got special pricing) to promote their product as the only viable solution. Everybody has different criteria in what they are looking to accomplish with their particular mod.... To say that one product is bad because it doesn't meet your specific criteria is ridiculous. Unless a specific product is causing damage to members cars there is nothing wrong with it.

Some people love the extremely bright HID's, for me they are too bright, some people love OSS, I don't like the look of OSS and prefer the look you get with the fiber optics. All options have proven to work, and all fit different peoples tastes.

Gentlemen,

We definitely didn't mean to stir up any controversy or bad blood between vendors, we just simply posted a picture for what it's worth, comparing the two brands light output and ring coverage as requested.

Another big subject for debate is viewing angle, or claiming that the previously posted picture was off center:

This image is taken inside our facility out of direct sunlight at a 15ft distance zoomed in with an 18-55mm lens with cross hairs used for angle reference. Forum members should be able to make their own judgment from the information provided. We believe we have a stellar reputation on the forum and contribute a generous amount of information to educate others and have no intentions of deceiving anyone.

IT WAS off center. You should have posted the picture above all along, which still is slightly off center by the way (see the mirror), but barely. You can tell how much brighter is the outer right ring on the photo above compared to the initial one.

But I assume most educated buyers are like me, who never believe what a vendor claims , so I expect that kind of bias all along. Good afternoon.

Sorry, but I'm not seeing this at all - both outer rings are much brighter than in the original pic, because of the different exposure.

But to my eye the relative difference in brightness of the outer rings (AIB vs. LUX) is exactly the same as in the original pic. To be more clear, to my eye the AIB's outer ring is significantly more illuminated than the LUX - just as in the original pic.

I am stock, and most likely will never buy either of these. But it seems some forum members here were heavily trying to paint EAS in a negative light. As it turns out, over nothing.
