08 BMW: Wont start with side airbag deployed?

Is it true that BMW has a safety mechanism that if a side airbag is deployed it will run until shut off and not start again until the side airbag is fixed? I know if just the driver airbag goes off it can still start. But wondering if side airbags are different.

Car is a 08 BMW M3 E92. The dash does turn on but doesn't start.

Tried to search but found nothing.

Thanks for any input. Please don't guess would like a sure answer if someone has one.

Thought these links might help.
Battery Safety Terminal = BST
Look at this thread and pictures
http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6313

Watch this video (start about 1:30 in video)

Pop your battery cover and you might see (like the pictures in the thread) that the BST has activated which will cut power to the main engine harness.
