But traction and putting the power down is not an issue in the M3 in winter? I understand that you can take off slow, but then why drive the M3 in snow, get a winter beater.

So clearance is NOT an issue then? I appreciate the hyperbole, but trying to get a grasp on the capability of the car, and awd wouldn't seem to help if you cant even clear the snow, no?

I've always had dropped cars and always drove them in the harsh Quebec winter, even some with front splitters like my STI and my M3 and never had clearence issue, you just need to be a minimum carefull and you're ok! As for a stock RS5 or M3, no doupt that these cars have been made to be driven all year long!!

I've had both, the M wins IMHO.

My review is old, so some comparisons may be out of date at this point. However, for what its worth: http://www.m3post.com/forums/showpos...98&postcount=7

I think my opinion has changed with more time in the M. Also, I've become a fan of the track since then. I think I like the M more and more every day. The sound puts a smile on my face every time I start the car. The S5 motor seemed lethargic and lazy even at start up.
