Question Trying to get dealer to add Apps / 6NR

Background:
2011.5 E90, build date 10/22/2010
Integration: E89X-13-03-504
iPhone 5s @ iOS 7.0.2

Build sheet shows:
S6VCA (Combox)
S6NFA (Smartphone)
S639A (Bluetooth)
S609A (Navigation)

From what I've read here in the past, BMW part number 61122295390 (and the FSC code from part 65902219127) is all that's needed to enable Apps. My local dealership is saying that the snap-in adapter is needed for Apps to work -- but they are waiting for confirmation from "BMW Engineering". They also said that you cannot use the USB port for Apps.

Darek @ BimmerTech said they can enable Apps on my car no problem, but I always prefer the OEM route whenever possible.

What am I missing here? Don't I meet all the requirements for the OEM 6NR retrofit?

I have a factory optioned "Apps" car, and I don't need the snap in adapter for any of the app functionality to work. Not sure what is needed to retro, but the adapter isn't a requirement for it to function.

Your car is a later build date though.

My service writer just said the above part numbers don't even show up in their system.

BimmerTech BMW Apps solution is the OEM solution. And the only solution for you.

Your dealer will not be able to get you the FSC just because your 10/10 build date predates BMW apps (03/11-on). That and the fact that BMWNA does not offer the BMW Apps retrofit in the USA means no FSC in your particular case and country.

Thanks, Technic. I wasn't sure if the OEM retrofit was possible on any car with Combox and the pre-reqs.

Sucks that they offer this everywhere except the US.

No matter, as my BMW EVP doesn't cover the nav system anyways...
