great mix of opinions here so here's mine - I didn't need a sedan, but I picked the E90 because I loved the aggressive M3 front end mixed with the more pronounced rear flares
if I had picked a darker color like LSB/IB, I probably would have leaned towards the coupe (with a moonroof) for that slick luxury GT look

some of us non-self respecting folk don't want to look like Paul Walker (since he has a CF roof E92 and all that... )

Call me bias but it is coupe all the way for me. I hate the way they did E90 sedan rear end just so blah. At least the new generation F30 sedan is much better looking from the rear.
Also, me and my wife as well as son drive in my car many times despite having a 5 series at home. I am not saying the E92 coupe is comparable to 5 series in comfort. However, I find the back seats to be as roomy as any E90 sedan. Instead of opening the door just slide the seat forward and mission is accomplished and you do not have to deal with ugly rear end.

Sedan and coupe are each unique IMO. There was a black sedan with red interior i test drove two yrs ago, which I still wish I had purchased. But, my AW coupe is still as fun for me to look at everyday. I wish I had both! If you can switch then take a moment to ask yourself, do you want a different car every year? Maybe that is what is underlying your wish to swap. If so, you could explore a non M3 like a p car or US muscle.

It seems like no one will convince you, as you are pretty set with getting a Coupe.
Everyone loves E92 M3 (generally), E90 M3 is really hate it or love it thing, some people dislike it like hell, some ppl just love it like crazy. I do not dislike coupes, I like the way E92 looks, muscular and sharp. But I personally love the E90 sedan more It has such a great stance, and especially with lowered springs or coilover with 359M wheels, it just looks perfect to my eyes. everyone's life is different, everyone's need is different, I love having 4 doors and still being sporty and crazy good look. This car literally can be used on track, daily use, carry around 4 ppl on a 300 miles trips. |

I say no way. You have a great car! Wait for the next M3. The features and tech on even the standard F30 3-series are pretty incredible. The F82 should blow peoples' minds.

True the e92 has great lines no doubt there but that it looks better is subjective

Stock for stock I prefer the looks of the e92 but i own and love my e90. I do think a modded e90 looks better than a similarly modded e92 though. Can't go wrong either way.

Probably true.
That being said: M3 DTM and ALMS are coupes: so racers do 2-doors. Just sayin'.

Great point; the thing I wish my E90 had as the CF roof from factory!
