E92 M3 Vs Lotus Exige S

Which one would you go with for the money? I love the look of the Exige but I'm not sure about overall what I would go for. Whats your thoughts?

Depends on your lifestyle. Exige is more of a track car and seems too harsh for road use. Which do you prefer? Test drive both.

DO NOT buy the lotus as a daily driver.

I had for 2 years a Track modified Elise and tried on road and track the Exige S. I now have the M3 and tracked it only twice so far.

Regarding driving pleisure, my resume would be:

On open roads, they are licence killer.

The exige S is very pleasant (almost intoxicating) and also so easy to handle well on track; The grip is very good but when it snaps, it is difficult to catch. The max speed is difficult to reach in comparaison to the 420 bhp of the M3.

The M3 gives you a lot less feed back thru the wheels and seat (I had harness on the Lotus btw). You need more time and/or experience to fully use the M3 (weight problem), but the deep feeling of the V8 is brilliant and top speed is easily achieved.

They are really different cars but you feel that the BMW is NOT design for track use except the Nurburgring probably. I mean if you want to improve your time lap per lap, the Lotus is more rewarding. With the BMW you will probably more play with the rear and oversteering than improve your lines and times

So far I remain a little frustrated because my "balls" are to small to attack as much as I use to do with the Lotus but learning and experience are parts of the game
