Ericsson Titanium Headers

Wow, beautiful and will save a tiny bit of weight as well. Have a look here for some close up images. Stocke headers are shown for comparison. These are going to be pricey I'm sure!

Just want a dyno, really want to see what we have available in the header for us power wise.

Most people seem to think improving on the BMW design will be difficult/impossible.

Agreed. BMW did a nice job on the headers. Any realistic gains are going to be hard to come by IMHO.

My reaction is, man those stock headers look amazing. Looking curve-by-curve, it's hard to see any obvious improvement with the new headers. I wouldn't be surprised if the hp and torque gains are near zero. Also, I'd want to know the underhood temperature comparisons. The titanium needs a coating, which they have, but the heat transfer may be through the roof.

Hopefully we'll see a baseline comparison to stock with all cats in. I'm kind of doubting there'll be much to talk about.

The price must be stupid if they are Ericcson, my guess is in the $8,000- $9500 range. They will be lighter I guess maybe like 4-6 pounds on each side. And I a couple of years the titanium will crack and there goes your investment.

To see the differences don't look at the curvy sections but the straight 4->1 section. It is quite a bit longer on the Ti version. I don't know exactly what this will mean for power or torque but I have heard some rumors/guesses/analysis, even in some other threads here.

Interesting, I missed that.

I bet it does impact torque, I'm not sure how positive or negative. On Mustangs the longer headers gave more hp gains, but we were always constrained by space. The collector section of this Ti set is actually shorter than stock. Maybe one of our engine builder friends can tell us theoretically what that'll do.

Neither can we tell from the pictures how the inside diameters compare. It doesn't take much difference to add up to a sizeable cummulative volume difference.

Still, I think that the stock headers are incredible.

If he gives away 2 kidneys he won't need the headers or his car anymore. Dibs.
