I dont track the car but might... but do drive the car hard"ish" The performance and safety is the most important to me and looks second.

I have iforged seneca on the car now. which were from my E46 M3. I had to add 11mm spacers in front and 15 mm spacers in back. I did this when i first got the car. Now the car is supercharged with an AA stage 2. The suspension has also been changed to KW V3. These wheels have about 155k miles on them with 80k on this M3.

Im thinking of changing the wheels now so a PROPER fit without mickey mousing it like i have now.


The question is if forged wheels are a must or you guys think or will cast be ok? I am on forged wheels now but its kind of a janky set up and want to change from the continental extreme DW to the Michellin P4s which do NOT come in a 285/30/19 only a 295/30/19 which doesn't fit on the current set up.

What do you guys recommend?

Personally, I got sick of cast wheels bending and crack so I finally moved onto forged for my daily.

The ZCP 359M are one of the sturdiest I've seen that are not forged, which is why I'm still keeping them on the M3. If I didn't have those, I'd be rocking some BBS/Volk forged wheels for sure.

If budget allows, forged wheels are the best option. They're usually much lighter which improves performance and will take more abuse from daily driving better than any cast wheel ever could.

Forged wheels if you have the budget. If not, flow-formed wheels are a step up from fully cast wheels.

There are a few very affordable 18" forged wheel options available but it sounds like you want to stick with a 19" wheel.

no, you don't have to. apex has proven that. however, if you have a few bucks to spare, you can get a nice forged set from bimmerworld or eas for about $2k.

Apex ARC 8 are great. Light and strong. Been running them for 7 years.

Some of the OEM M3 wheels are not forged yet are incredibly strong, albeit heavy

Something like the EAS/BW forged wheels is clearly an upgrade due to weight, but the ARC8 is inexpensive and very durable as well

Apex wheels are actually ridiculously soft.

The only good thing about this is they'll bend and won't crack. Which is a big deal if you track your car. I've seen BBS wheels crack.


I've had two of mine repaired from regular street driving. The tech said an OEM Mercedes wheel takes around 7000-8000 lbs of pressure to bend back and my Apex ARC-8's took 1500 lbs.

Strong

OE wheels (good) are strong and cheap. Apex's are light and cheap. Forged BBS wheels are light and strong.

Anyone claiming to have 3/3 is lying.

Bad wheels have 0/3 or 1/3.

I think the BW or EAS forged wheels are strong, light and relatively cheap at around 2k a set

Plenty of cheap quality "forged" wheels out there.
APEX are JIW certified, so you have some idea they at least meet some standards.
Buying used here is another good option.

As for the tires, consider the new Continental ExtremeContact Sport tires; they're suppose to be comparable to Michelin PSS. Kumho PS91 is another option.
