I would like to read the motive behind the no Assist option decision, honestly.

No Assist means no Google Maps "send to car" to the iDrive, and having to mute the audio manually when you receive/make calls. Of course, no crash notification when you are incapacitated alone in the middle of nowhere.

So you will be having iDrive with less convenience features, and a less convenient and safer driving.

So what do I lose without bluetooth other than the hands free driving? I have my bluetooth device that works fine.

What is this about google maps?

Quote:
With Bluetooth® wireless technology* you can place and answer calls hands-free without any cords or cables getting in your way. You can browse your phonebook contacts and dial numbers through your BMW multi-function steering wheel, radio or control display, and speech recognition system; letting you keep your hands on the wheel. A microphone transmits your conversation, while you listen through your sound system, with entertainment muted during calls.

All you need is a BMW-compatible Bluetooth mobile phone. For more information, a list of compatible mobile phones, and available docking cradles which both recharge your phone and connect it to your BMW's external antenna for improved reception, visit your BMW center or www.bmwusa.com/bluetooth
doesn't seem like something i need, I also have AAA, I usually plan ahead of where i'm going and don't need to be digging in google maps to send the data to the map. I'm not a fan of the phone through the speakers.

Since you are already getting carbon letter trim and BWM assist, why not pay a little more and get the ZPP? You'll get nice seats, garage-door opener, and power folding mirrors.

I wanted the speedcloth, don't need those other options.
