HELP: need to mod and e92 (edition) side grill to fit e90

I ordered the complete OEM M3 Black Chrome Edition parts from Tischer before the holidays. I managed to get the front grill on (looks great), have the AT black trunk badge on and need to tackle the side grills to complete the black-out.

I have only been able to locate a one sentence reference on the forum that speaks to snipping some plastic to make the e92 side grill to fit the e90.

Before I remove the original ones and start cutting and expensive part up, I was hoping to get some better guidance.

Thanks in advance!

There is a large black plastic cup on the end of the gill for the e92. Take a small snipper and cut off the little piece of that cup that holds it on to the tabs. Pull the gill (with tabs) out and it's an e90 one

Thanks Jeremy R

Does anyone have any pics...not to be dense, just a little gun-shy on modding OEM pats to fit.

Thanks

Good luck removing your E90 gills. Not fun. In fact I gave up and will be taking mine to a shop for professional help.

any pics of a modded e92 side grill to fit e90?

I want to show my dealer and have them do it for me.

Why do people always want the stuff they don't/can't have, like me, ive been thinking of custom-fit the e90 m3 sidegrills for mine!

This is it. Aside from that end cup, the piece is be exactly like the one you're replacing.

Pulling the gills out of the car is the hard part. Unless you get behind the fender to release the tabs, your likely to break the clips.
